Barcelona, 3 May 2024. From 9 May, the new Glòries stop will be opened for tram lines T4, T5 and T6 in its definitive location in front of Design Hub Barcelona (DHub). On the same day, the La Farinera and Glòries Meridiana stops will be closed in order to begin the work to definitively remove them.

As of this date, trams will pick up passengers at the new stop in both directions and the pedestrian crossing on the Llobregat side will be opened. This signalled crossing will allow users to access the TRAM platforms and aid the flow of pedestrian traffic from the metro line L1 exit inside the square.

However, the urban development works will continue on most of the Glòries area and part of the tram infrastructure, with access restricted by means of fencing and signage.

The opening of the new station represents one of the key milestones in phase 1 of the works to connect the tram along Barcelona's Avinguda Diagonal, with the infrastructure work expected to be completed this spring ready for operational tests in the summer.

Information for users

In run up to the opening date, TRAM will post staff in the affected area (La Farinera, Glòries Meridiana and new Glòries stops) to provide users with information and guidance about the changes. Also leaflets with all the information will be available on the trams. The stops will also be duly signposted with posters and indications and information will be provided over the public address system.

In addition, the ATM, Barcelona City Council and TRAM will be providing information on their websites and social networks.
